Debian packaging of the Odoo 18 + OCA Python libraries

Updated 2026-09-30, 04:10. A box is checked when the package is built, lintian clean, autopkgtest green, installed on a clean trixie machine (and, where an OCA module uses it, that module installs in an Odoo 18 database), reviewed, merged and in trixie-staging.

Scope, decided by the maintainer on 2026-09-30

Only the libraries with value outside Odoo, or on their way to Debian, become Debian packages. The other libraries of the map (openupgradelib, erpbrasil., nfelib, py3o., workalendar, etc.) go to the Odoo virtual environment instead, which is decision 0022's side and not tracked here.

pyzbar (backport of sid 0.1.9-3): 0.1.9-3~bpo13+keel1 merged (deb/pyzbar#1), gate green; staging and Odoo test pending
pdf2image 1.17.0: merged (deb/pdf2image#1), gate green; staging and Odoo test pending; draft for ITP #1087742 in #3 waiting for approval
xsdata 25.7 (nfelib, in the venv, needs <26; the venv sees the system site packages)
requests-pkcs12 1.25 (1.26+ needs requests>=2.32.5, trixie has 2.32.3): merged (deb/python-requests-pkcs12#1), gate green; staging pending. Before Debian: state python3-cryptography (>= 42.0.0) in Depends, the pyproject build drops it

Open questions

Resolved by decision 0022 (handbook#23): the Odoo venv is created with --system-site-packages, so the Debian packages must satisfy the OCA ranges. xsdata 25.7 and requests-pkcs12 1.25.
Source packages in the archive (bin/build-package builds binary only).
